Author Spotlight: Zari Banks

By Wanda

Zari BanksCan you spend 30 days praying for your enemies?

In day and time when much of the world is focused on me, me, Zari Banks encourages us to move from our self-centered thinking and do the incomprehensible (to our natural mind).  Oh Lord Forgive Them: 30 Days of Praying for Your Enemies is a devotional book that walks readers through praying for their enemies.

According to Zari the decision to obey Christ’s command to pray for her enemies was the first step to receiving an outpouring of supernatural power in her life—the power to move mountains and birth miracles. Although her initial prayers for her enemies were simply out of obedience, her obedience gave birth to true compassion for all God’s children. She invites all readers to embark upon their own journey as they open their hearts and follow God’s command to pray for their enemies. Lord Forgive Them

Zari Banks is a freelance writer, single mother, author, educator, and business woman. With the completion of her book O Lord Forgive Them, she accomplished her goal of completing five books in one year.

Yep we need to but it is certainly not the first things that come to our natural minds.

Yes, we do. Unforgiveness is a major block between us and our relationship with God. Not to mention it ruins relationships and causes physical ailments and mental anguish in our lives. We have to forgive if we want to be forgiven. :0)

Thanks Zari for stopping by. As you stated unforgiveness can be linked to so many areas of our lives.

Thank you, Alida! Pretty name, too. It has blessed many. I’m honored that God taught me the importance of forgiveness, and that He opened up the way for me to receive several gifts of the spirit as a result of clearing the path directly into His presence.

This is a message for “such a time as this” for sure. I was talking to a friend who is emerging from a marriage that almost killed her and one of the Scriptures we focused on was Acts 7:59. Stephen never stopped praying; in fact, his final act was to pray for those who were killing him. That is certainly not in our human nature. May we have, O God, the strength, by Your Spirit, to pray…for our enemies.

Our natural minds could never conceive doing such but I am so glad we serve a God that not only issues a command. But He also gives us the power and strength to obey it.

Amen! Amen! That’s why so many get forgiveness wrong – believing we can say, “I’m over it. I let it go,” and poof the offense is gone. Nope. Sins we commit as well as those committed against us wound the soul and only Jesus can heal that.

It is very difficulty but it is possible.

Yes, ladies! All things are possible with God. When we take a step toward Him – no matter how small – He runs to meet us there, and makes mountains seem like mole hills.
