Have you ever found yourself holding an offense? For whatever reason, you somehow felt that you were overlooked or mistreated. And when you feel that way, it so easy to retreat and decide that since they were wrong, they should be making the first move. Sadly, I found myself in this place recently, although I knew it was not the proper attitude to have. And this morning lo and behold, God shows His humorous side.
I have missed reading in Psalms and Proverbs since I started using my Chronological read through the Bible plan. So today I veered off the track of my normal Bible reading path and read Psalms 130. My eyes widen as I read verses 3-4 in The Message Bible.
If you God, kept records on wrongdoings,
who would stand a chance?
As it turns out, forgiveness is your habit,
and that’s why you’re worshiped.
Yeah I had been chasten by His Word. As I chuckled internally, I knew it was time to wipe my little scoreboard clean. All the times I have done wrong toward God are numerous to count. Yet when I ask, He stands willing and ready to forgive me.
Is there someone you have held a grudge against? If so today is the perfect day to set the score back at zero.

This is a good one! Oh, yes, I have definitely been chastened for my attitude and actions. But, I’m “the better, for it,” as my grandmother would say. We can’t hold grudges and serve the Lord. Those two actions just won’t hold water. When you are wronged or misjudged, you just have to pray, read and meditate. It doesn’t matter if you were hurt, as you have work to do for the Lord. Get to work and get to prayin’ is what I do! The Lord will change your heart, words and deeds! He is so wonderful and full of amazing grace! Be blessed and thank you for this post! Cynthia

Oh, Wanda – truth spoken courageously. Yes, holding grudges can be a temptation for me sometimes, too. It is only by looking at my very undeserving self that I can release those ugly feelings to God.
Oh, I’m so glad that He doesn’t keep any books – except the Book of Life!
GOD BLESS!

Aw, there are certainly times in our lives when we feel mistreated and attacked, but God’s word challenges us to love them anyway. I love the Message version of the Psalms verse you quoted; great post Wanda! 🙂
Blessings,
