By now most us of know about the impending death of Google Reader and it happened to be my favorite way to follow blogs. Since their announcement, I have moved to Feedly and Bloglovin. There are features I like about both of those services but I find myself using Feedly more often. However, there is one little matter that puzzles me and that’s where I need your help my friend.
Unread Items Don’t Display
See that snazzy little screenshot. It shows I have 60 unread items yet it also says there are no articles in this section. Yet clearly there are unread items showing under that category.
Now how do I get those unread blog articles to display instead of no articles in this section? And yes I’ve tried that nice little refresh link and I do know that I click on the name of each blog in the far left and it will display the items.
Have you run across this issue when using Feedly?

I want to hear more Wanda! I hope someone comments and clues us in~
I am considering this one, but want to be sure…
How are you?
Hope life is treating you well~
😀
Wanda says
Hi Ella, I’m having sinus trouble again…ick 🙁 I like Feedly but I’ve noticed this one issue. It appears I’m not the only one that have encountered this problem. Karen commented about her noticing the same thing.
LaVonne says
Wanda, I am hoping for comments as well. I was leaning to Feedly on recommendation from some friends, and I plan to give it a go.
Wanda says
Hi LaVonne, I did stumble across a post from another blogger regarding this same issue. For the most part I like using Feedly. When I can get a chance I’ll update this post with a link to the blogger’s post, if I can locate it again.
Sharon says
You are speaking a foreign language here, Wanda. I hope that some computer literate readers chime in with some helpful comments.
In the meantime, I am still *bloglovin* the old-fashioned way and *feedly* pretty good about it.
GOD BLESS!
Wanda says
LOL…Sharon you gave me a smile my friend. If the old-fashioned way works no need to change I suppose 😉
Karen says
Wanda, I have been using Feedly for a few months and for the most part like it okay…several issues have popped up with me concerning outdated feeds that were still displaying after I deleted them…after emailing support a few times and never getting a response, it finally straightened itself out…maybe…
My Feedly reader is set up to open up on the index page so I see all unread feeds categorized and listed at the top of the page….I did click on the “blogger-following” section and saw the same message that you did of “there are no articles in this section”…which I don’t understand either, but in the top right of the same page there is a list of unread feeds “in blogger-following”….
Perhaps this is another glitch with their program that will eventually be repaired….I read somewhere they were overwhelmed with imports from Google Reader….
Wanda says
Thanks for sharing your experience with Feedly Karen. I can imagine with the mass exodus from Google Reader they are experiencing some technical glitches. I did stumble across a post from another blogger, who reports having the same problem we are encountering with the blogger-following category.
I too had the issue of some old feeds showing up after I deleted them from Feedly but I discovered it was that way because I was still subscribed to those blogs via Google Friend connect.
denise says
I have no clue sweet friend.
Wanda says
Ahh thanks Denise. Thought I’d throw the question out into the blogosphere to see if anyone had a clue. Hope you’re doing well.
Michell says
That’s new to me Wanda…I’ve never heard of Feedly! Thanks for the heads up, I’ll go and check it out! Thanks for linking up…have a wonderful evening my friend!! 🙂
Wanda says
Hope you have a good evening as well Michell. I actually heard of feedly before bloglovin and tends to me more in line with google reader except it has a magazine like feel to it. I wrote a previous post highlighting my move to feedly.

I don’t have any help for you, sadly. I tried using Feedly but it was just too hard to wrap my brain around it. I really loved the layout of Google Reader and was so thankful when a new bog friend recommend TheOldReader. Oh man, I LOVE it! Makes my life so much easier. You can check it out here: http://theoldreader.com. I use BlogLovin too, but like this so much better because it is similar to Google Reader.
Wanda says
Thanks for the recommendation Barbie. I’ll have to give the Old Reader a try. I like the sleekness of Feedly but I’m noticing a few little kinks.
