Ever notice how your smiling face does not always show up on certain blogs? Like mine for instance. Since I changed by blogging platform from blogger to WordPress, I no longer see your chosen profile image(avatar) for many of you who have blogger profiles. Instead an empty box is displayed in place of your photo.
But you don’t have to be stuck with that empty gray box. Instead create your universal avatar using Gravatar.com.
Your Gravatar is an image that follows you from site to site appearing beside your name when you do things like comment or post on a blog. Avatars help identify your posts on blogs and web forums, so why not on any site?
Signing up is easy and free. Your avatar is associated with a specific email address so when you leave a comment on a blog using that email address your selected profile image gets associated with your comment.

Using an avatar is a personal decision but it just helps you become identifiable across the blogosphere.

Hi Wanda –
Did you dislike something about Blogger, and thus the switch?
Wanda says
Hi Sandra, several things led to my switch to WordPress. One I felt WordPress offered a more flexibility and I was taking a blog designing class that required purchase a domain name and setting up WordPress as a part of the class. While taking the class I thought it would be a good way for me to better understand the platform by converted my blog.
