MY THOUGHTS:
Although the Rock Solid Faith Bible is considered a study Bible, I like the fact that it still leaves the scripture as the main focus. I think the publishers found a nice way of blending the added features into the Bible which include:
- Rock Solid TRUTHS: Examines Christian beliefs and explorations of other religions
- Rock Solid PRINCIPLES: Applies the Bible to daily decisions and challenges
- Rock Solid PROMISES: Calls out what is (and is not) promised in the Bible
- Rock Solid PLANS: Explores God’s plan and will for your life
- Unshaken PEOPLE: Provides scriptural examples of overcoming difficulties
- Unshaken GOD: Points out God’s unyielding attributes
Remembering back to when I started reading the Bible myself, the NIV version was my favorite and I think teens will find this translation easy to understand as well. Being geared for today’s teen, I would have expected the Bible to have a bit more colorful graphics (which has nothing to do with the substance of the Bible, of course) and I’m used to having more cross references included in a study Bible. However, I think teens would find this Bible useful. The hardback cover makes it sturdy enough to withstand bumps from a teens active lifestyle.

In this world filled with options and distractions of every type, I am glad to see progress in presenting God’s word to our young people in ways that will encourage them to approach it and study it. Praying that you have a happy day, Wanda. In fact, have a happy season. Praying for all blessing in this new season as we turn from summer to autumn.

Wish I had access to such resources in my youth. But what I did have was a great foundation to build on. Hope you have a great weekend Yvonne.

Teens need more than just the Bible verses to relate sometimes. Sounds like this version does a great job of that.

Handy tool to put in their arsenal.
