Money Mysteries From the Master {Review}

Can managing your money be a bit of a mystery?

In Gary Keesee’s latest book, Money Mysteries From the Master, he aims at unlocking the mystery of money management. Like many people, whether Christian or not, Gary and his wife Drenda found themselves under an avalanche of past due bills and consumer debt.  According to the author, he had bought into believing the earth’s system of finance and debt but God wanted to teach him how the Kingdom works in the realm of money. As a believer, he found himself believing and quoting scripture promises of God’s provision but barely getting by.

Many Christians do not have an understanding of spiritual law and think that they have to beg God and convince Him of what they need before He will respond. That is not true. God has already given us everything we need for life when He gave us the Kingdom.

Through sharing his own personal story and that of others, he reveals how he discovered the mystery of money hidden within the Word of God.  The book unpacks 9 key mysteries which include:

• Mystery of the earth curse
• Mystery of strategy and timing
• Mystery of visions and dreams
• Mystery of praying in the spirit
• Mystery of partnership
• Mystery of profit
• Mystery of the assignment
• Mystery of trust
• Mystery of the measure

He ushers believers away from the just surviving and “mail-box” mentality to being open to the opportunities, which are presented to create and capture finances. He uses familiar passages of scripture such as David fighting Goliath and the Good Samaritan and point out key applications for our daily lives.

For anyone tired of being consumed by the rat race of making ends meet and or seeking to live a life of purpose even with their money, this book is a must read. I like the book because it was not filled with the idea of get rich quick schemes but provided a healthy balance of giving faithfully and actively pursing endeavors in the marketplace.  Not only was this my first time reading any Keesee’s books but the first time I had ever heard of him. However, Money Mysteries from the Master is one of the few books I would actually re-read.
