Come…

By Wanda

Do you hear the incessant call as I do?

Every time I open up my emails the merchants are beckoning me with their latest flash sale. Scrolling through the TV, I’m inundated with pleas to hurry before I miss out on the biggest sale of the year.  Before I know it I’m drawn into chasing down the lowest prices hopping down through Internet trails. It’s so easy to get lost in it all.

But beyond all the discounts and deals, I hear another charge to COME. Four little letters yet in it the holds an invitation to meet with the Savior of the world. He doesn’t use fancy marketing ploys, flashing lights or any of the world’s typical bells and whistles.

The holiday season can be a wonderful time of year but it can also be one filled with hustle and stress.  Many things will ring out for our time, attention, and dollars but the choice is ours on what we answer. Are you drawing near to those things that bring you joy, peace, and love during this season?

Have you resorted to doing the things you think you ought to the neglect of one who calls you to come away with Him?

Thanks Pam. It’s a nudge I’ve been in need of so much during this season. It’s a battle this time of year.

Wanda, there’s so much peace in that one word, “Come.” I was reminded of Jesus saying, “Come unto Me all you who are weary…”

Still learning how to let go of the hustle and bustle of the season, and lean into His rest.

    GOD BLESS!

That verse has been on my mind has well Sharon. It’s odd that a full of celebrating can lead us to feel so weary and in need of rest. I find myself in constant struggle between hustle and that which is adore the holiness of the season.

Thank you, Wanda, for this reminder. Sometimes I think the merchandisers are following me around, but I decided to have clear focus this season and your words … come let us adore Him … helps me keep my perspective. Sometimes, in all the busyness, we can feel lost and insignificant, but in adoring Him, He will remind us that He adored us first, and still adores us.

Looks like you have set your face like flint Lavonne, lol. When we set our focus on adoring Him what the merchandisers are peddling all pale in comparisons. Have a wonderful day.

Thank you for the reminder that He is calling me. This is a busy season, stressful at times. But I know when I answer the call and allow Him to take me up in His arms, all of my worries and cares fade away. Have a blessed week.
