Woohoo we have made it to Friday again, friends! And that means it times to share this week’s Friday Five picks. The Friday Five is a time to share inspirational posts I have read throughout my week and you have the opportunity to get in on the fun with The Friday Five Fellowship.
Here’s my picks for the week:
Need a reminder of that God can be found even in the midst of life fiery times? Fire on the Mountain by Sharon at Sharon Seeing God.
I love this quote from Karen’s post entitled, God is Holding Onto You
that God is like that with His children. He doesn’t depend on us to always keep our eyes on Him or to hold onto Him. Instead, He holds onto us.
When I read those words it was so freeing. Sometimes I’m like a small child that gets distracted and I allow my eyes to become glued on the things of this world. But oh how wonderful it is to be reminded that He is ever holding onto me.
Mary DeMuth shares 13 Warning Signs for the Christian Celebrity that would do us all well to review. If know you’re probably thinking you can skip this one because you don’t have some major platform but each of us can glean truths for her post, Christian Celebrity
What to Do When Blogging Becomes Discouraging by Vanessa at Christian Mommy Blogger. Reminds us that comments doesn’t tell the whole story of our blogging world. She exhorts to remember the silent reader whose face may never show up in your GFC or Networkedblog faces.
Angie shares a great writing from Bill Johnson called A Poor Gospel.
Now here is your chance to join the party. Link up a post that either you have read or written that would be encouraging for others to read.
Sharon says
Thanks, Wanda, for including my post in this week’s Friday Five. The lessons continue as another fire rages out of control about 8 miles away from our town. I guess this is just my season to learn where my *true* home is – and that God has everything in control.
GOD BLESS!
Wanda says
Oh my Sharon! I pray that you and your husband will remain safe my friend. And I look forward to lessons you’ll be sharing.
Pam Williams says
I really love the Friday Five, Wanda. I felt weird linking with my own post, but it was one that God used to speak to me so powerfully that I just thought He might be able to use it to speak to others. Thanks for the opportunity to share.
Wanda says
No need to feel weird Pam. It’s all about connecting and sharing inspirational posts that can encourage one another. Appreciate you participating.
Karen says
I enjoy your FFF, Wanda!
This week I was blessed over and over by the words of several different writers. The link I chose to share was from Holley Gerth’s post about “When It’s Hard to Be You”….I believe everyone can relate to what she shares….
Have a great weekend!
Wanda says
Thanks for sharing Karen. I love Holley’s blog. She has a way of putting into words exactly how I feel at times. Can’t wait to read this one.
Kim@Stuffcould... says
I like your picks…I get too easily distracted by things in the world too
Wanda says
It’s so easy to do isn’t it Kim. Hope you have a great weekend.
LaVonne says
Thank you, Wanda, for providing my weekend reading. I’m avid watcher of DIY networks, and a comment (not a blog) caught my attention this week. A homeowner said, “Everyone wants my house, but no one wants to pay for it.” As I heard those words, something in my spirit rose up with thanksgiving that God went beyond wanting me to PAYING THE PRICE for me before I ever desired and loved Him in return. May we all remember that GOD SO LOVED US that He PRE-PAID the price for us forever. We won’t ever find a better deal than that.
Wanda says
Wow, LaVonne that’s so rich my friend. It’s one thing to have a desire for a thing but to be willing to pay the cost to have it is area where many will walk away. Joining you in thanking God that he deemed us worthy to pay the cost in FULL for us.
denise says

I read one this morning from Father Dragon Al – it’s his birthday, and although he’s had some rough times lately, he still managed to find humor and a good attitude.

Father Dragon Al is an interesting name. It’s really inspiring to see others find the good in life right in the midst of difficult times.
