Listen to me all who hope for deliverance—all who seek the Lord. (that’s me)
Consider the quarry from which you were mined,
the rock from which you were cut. Isaiah 51:1
This is the scripture that was in the forefront of my mind as I awaken this morning. Perhaps it was all the thoughts of rocks, pebbles, and mountains that have been swirling around in my mind as I prepare for Bible study that caused this scripture to be impressed upon my mind.
Further reading of this passage in Isaiah revels that the writer is focusing on the Israelites ancestors Abraham and Sarah. But I can’t help but think of it terms of the ultimate rock-Jesus. As a believer, He is my ultimate foundation and it is from Him that the whole pattern of my life has been cut out.
What does Isaiah 51:1 say to you when you read it?
LaVonne says
Wanda, I almost can’t believe I’m reading your words, “it is from Him that the whole pattern of my life has been cut out.” You will understand why the next time you check into my blog neighborhood. Much love as you stick to His pattern for you.

I popped over to your blog before seeing your comment LaVonne and I couldn’t help but smile when I read your topic. We definitely were thinking along similar lines today.

Hi Wanda –
I love how you emphasized our rock. Blessed be the rock of our salvation.
What leaped off the page at me when I read Isaiah 51:1 – KJV is “Hearken to me…” If we simply do that we can certainly avoid some missteps…
What a mighty GOD we serve.
Wanda says
Yes, He is mighty indeed Sandra. To hear and heed the Father’s voice keeps us on the right path for sure.

Isaiah shouts to me: Stand up! Stand strong! Stand true! You are mine! You only need faith, as I have the strength. Stay focused on Me! I love you! That’s what Isaiah shouts to me! I love this post! Blessings!
