Happy Friday Friends! This week has bustled by. Between recovering from a wisdom tooth extraction, dealing with constant headaches, and keeping pace during an extra busy time at work, I feel worn and ready to welcome the peaceful quiet of the weekend.
This week’s Friday Five recommended good reads are:
Psalms of the Soul by Ceil at Evangelize to Me
When I read her post, it really touched me in the way she expresses the call to tune in to our inner selves. Perhaps it because my week has been filled with noise and distractions that this really spoke to me this week. Here’s my favorite quote from what you wrote:
The healing truth is in my soul. No amount of arguing, research, or bribery can change the eternal wisdom that lives inside of me. My soul speaks only the truth. It cannot lie because it is the throne of grace and wisdom. –Ceil
Should God Alone Make You Happy by Nicole at Modern Reject
She tackles the question of is God alone really enough for us as believers. I have heard that saying and in the back of my mind I always thought yea but I also want _______(you fill in the blank)
This is what Nicole says, “Yes, I concede that God is enough–or rather He can be enough, but He isn’t meant to be “enough.” God never intended for us to walk through life with nothing but Him.”
The Volume of Life by LaVonne at Sword of Goliath
Another one of those post that called me to tend to the noisiness of life.
Just Let Go by Barbie at My Freshly Brewed Life
It was if Barbie was speaking to me. Lately it feels as if my word-well has become dry. As bloggers we all hit those spots of writer’s block and maybe it’s a good thing to stop fighting it at times but embrace the break it offers to us.
Christian Mommy Blogger has a good series going on about preparing your blog for the holidays. An area I want to work on more is planning by content.
Now you have my list of recommended reads. Now tell what have you been reading that really spoke to you this week. Share some of your favorite posts you have written this week in The Friday Five Fellowship Link-Up.

Wanda says
Thank you so much! I’m starting to feel some better.
LaVonne says
Thanks, Wanda. I’m reading Nicole’s post and thinking about the pastor who committed suicide last Sunday and had a whole lot of folks talking about depression, loneliness and unhappiness in the pulpit and within the body. Praying to God for that peace and stillness and all the fullness of Him.
Wanda says
I heard about that LaVonne. I’m hearing of more and more suicide. My sister and I was talking this week about the disillusionment that is happening within a lot of the body of Christ. I think some of it is due to messages that only delivered a portion of the truth.
Ceil says
Hi Wanda! I had no idea you were listing my blog with your Friday Five. Thank you!
It sounds like you’ve had a challenging week. I hope your mouth is a little less sore, and you are feeling better.
I’ll be visiting some of your recommended sites, and I’ll link up a post later too. Blessings on your weekend, I hope you can rest and relax a little?

Sorry to hear that this week has been a bear, Wanda. Two weeks ago was like that for me: a tsunami of work, home, health… you get the picture! Praying for a quick turnaround in all areas for you.
I loved all five reads! Can’t choose a fave, but the one on taking it slower really hit the spot.
Hugs,
Ali

Wanda, thank you for sharing these bloggers each week. I try to at least choose one to read each weekend. This morning I chose “Just Let Go,” the post by Barbie over at a Freshly Brewed Life. The title alone told me there was something there for me, and I was so right. It was truly a blessing to read and confirming for me in so many ways. Thank you for sharing. I pray you are blessed.
Wanda says
Hi Monica, glad you were able to read her post. I was late in reading her post but it was perfect timing for me when I did. Hope you and the hub are doing well.
Joanne Viola says
Wanda – I visited above first & worked my way down to leave a comment. Each was so good in & of itself. I so appreciate spending time here on my Saturday mornings to see what you bring me 🙂

Hi Wanda!! I know what you mean about the dry well with blogging my friend! I think I’m there. Don’t know if it’s the holiday season that is fast approaching and I’m just not finding time, or what. But I agree, we should embrace the “break” as a much needed rest. Thanks for sharing your list my friend! Blessings!!
Wanda says
Michell, this time of year is definitely a busy season and keeping everything in balance can be quite the challenge. Hope your weekend has been a great one thus far.
