The Friday Five

By Wanda

Once again it’s time to share my Friday Finds with you. Below are five posts I read during the week that resonated with me.

11 Reasons Why the Health, Wealth,  & Prosperity Gospel is Not the Gospel by Sammy at How Much Does God Weigh.

Lent 2013: Holy Heart; The Flourishing at Sword of Goliath {served as reminder that BIG doesn’t necessarily mean productive or purposeful} Below is my favorite quote from the post:

In almost every religious organization today, we hear leaders talking about going BIG, doing BIG things, building BIG buildings. Yet, with all the BIG talk and BIG appearances, there is much dryness, drought, damage and death. Ministries and ministers falling over. We can talk BIG and look BIG, but if we are not properly rooted and nourished, trouble is ahead. – Sword of Goliath

Too Much at 1-Minute Bible Love Notes {about a passage of scripture that’s often misquoted}

Sometimes “Being a Woman” Makes Me Tired at Good Woman Project. {about talking a break from the many ideas often conflicting ideas the role of women to simply relish in our role of God’s child}

I’m Having a Baby Girl Today at Holley Gerth {about birthing God-sized dreams}

Now that’s my list. What finds did you find interesting this week?

    Thanks for the mention, Wanda; and Oh my! Oh my! I am being blessed by these posts. Wanda, the “Too Much” post had me in tears. Scripture used out of context can result in great condemnation and harm souls. That post reminded me of the many times that David lamented facing people and situations that were too much for him: Today, though I am the anointed king, I am weak, and these sons of Zeruiah are too strong for me. – 2 Samuel 3:39.

    May we all be encouraged by the fact that in our weaknesses, God is still our present help. We don’t have to go it alone because we fear that people will think we have “failed” in handling “too much.”
