Friday Finds

By Wanda

Oh hello again Friday! Am I ever so happy to see you once again my friend. Around these parts I happen to think Fridays are the perfect day for sharing good reads to carry you into your weekend. Here’s a snippet of the goodies I discovered on my journey as I crisscrossed the interwebs this week.

We have all had those experiences of life not turning out quite like how we expected. This post titled Defining My Normal challenges us on what exactly is one’s normal life anyway.

For those moments you are tempted to measure yourself, blog stats, social media followers and such Not Measuring Up is a beautiful reminder of what truly matters.

I need God alone to help me measure what is true and forget the rest. Because I don’t need to hit a certain number of likes to prove my worth to anyone. – Tiffany

There is a joy of starting and who doesn’t love the exhilaration when a task is completed but the in between can be filled with a mixture of emotions. Ceil’s The Beauty of Becoming serves as a great reminder that there is more to enjoy than just the beginning and the end.

I’m always amazed at what some creative people can make from what I would consider trash. Check out these super cute mini business card/notebooks made from cereal boxes.

For people of faith one of our aims is getting into God’s Word regularly, Mariel shares a tip on How to Never Miss a Day of Scripture Reading.

I’d love to hear what great reads you came across this week.

Isn’t it amazing how we can measure our worth by the number of “likes” we get!
Or comments. Or number we sell Or money we make. Or (fill in the blank)
Oh Lord show us how you see things. Share your thoughts with us.
Thank God we’re not left to our own devices:)
    Thanks for this perspective tweak,
    Jennifer

Yes some how we are prone to pick up the wrong measuring sticks. Grateful for God’s gentle nudge that pushes our eyes back to what truly matters.
