Welcome lovelies to another edition of The Friday Five. Once again Friday has rolled through faster than a little kid going down a slip and slide on a hot summer’s day it seems. Are your days rushing by as well? Sorry I digress. Even with a busy week, I did manage to sneak in a little online time for blog reading. Here are a few my favorite reads from the week.
Perhaps it’s because I’m resisting the need rest that Kathryn’s post Waving the White Flag of Surrender really resonated with me. It feels like I should be doing more. I really like these lines she wrote:
So, I surrender my writing, this blog, the plans and ideas swirling in my head, to the One who set this writing dream afire in me. The One who holds the Master Plan for my life. I surrender to stop constantly swimming upstream, against the current, and instead try to lean into the rhythms of life. – Kathryn
While visiting Rhapsody's blog I discovered an interested fact. Is it possible that HIV a cure for Cancer?
Like Angel I’ve found myself digging the Duggars too. I’m not really sure how I found myself even watching the show but I’ve tuned into a several episodes and it’s been refreshing to see a show that is not full of drama, violence, and disrespect.
Have you thought much about rocks? Sandra’s post Standing not Sitting – A Dose of Encouragement really caused me to pause and think about how God always commands us to stand on the rock and never to sit. I hadn’t ever thought about that before but it’s quite true.
We are exhorted to stand not sit, perhaps because sitting might lead us to relax (let our minds wander and not be alert) when God is really saying: –Sandra
“Be watchful, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong.” 1 Cor. 16 v 13 (RSV)
And these words from Holley were the perfect little dose of encouragement so I’m passing them on to you in case you missed it.

Ahh Kathryn, your posts really resonated with me as I’m sure it does with many others. We tend to put so much value on doing than we fail to see the real value in rest. God thought it so important that he built into our normal daily of our bodies. Many blessings to you.
