So when you are about to say something in conversation with others, and you sense a gentle restraint from His quiet whisper, heed the restraint and refrain from speaking. And when you are about to pursue some course of action that seems perfectly clear and right, yet you sense in your spirit another path being suggested with the force of quiet conviction, heed that conviction. Follow the alternate course, even if the change of plans appears to be absolute folly from the perspective of human wisdom. –from Way of Faith/ Streams in the Desert
I came across this passage in my devotional reading this morning. I have often refer to God as the whisperer. Rarely do I have this clear flashing neon signs saying NO, NOT THIS WAY but rather I’m often lead just by an inner voice quietly leading or giving me a sense of peace about a particular course.
May we each hear and heed the whispers today!

Wanda, in all turbulence, I have found myself getting quieter and calmer, for I sincerely believe that He is whispering. When I am tempted to do one thing or another (often out of fear or impatience), I now understand that I must heed the whispers to my soul. Praying that you enjoy every spiritual blessing today.

When things are getting louder, it’s best we get quieter. For what needs to be seen isn’t always what is most visible to us. Thanks for your prayers. Wishing you a Wednesday fill with God’s wonder.

Wanda, so good to read this reminder that God speaks to us always, especially in quiet whispers.
Wanda says
He is ever near us.

I keep hearing (not literally) “It’s all right; don’t worry. All is well,” even though the situation seems hopeless and blown. Every time I get especially anxious, it comes back. It’s what made me decide to officially request a miracle (just a small one). I kind of feel like if it were useless, I would not feel so calm about it.

We can find rest on those little whispers. Lately I’ve been hearing (not audibly) let not your heart be troubled. If we focus on situations around us, they in fact may look pretty dismal but those whispers reassure us that it’s not the final outcome. Praying that you will continue to experience His peace until you come out on the other side of your situation.

So true Kim.

I love this passage Wanda; I am always looking for a “dangler” (pray for them actually) to pop down with God’s wisdom and grace to help me in a situation that I may not handle wisely! If we would always pause to listen first! 🙂
Blessings,
Denise

Listen first then taking action is definitely the best route. In our haste we sometimes fail to take a moment.

I had just prayed a prayer for wisdom and for God to purify my motives in a situation and the next thing I read was the quote about God’s whisper. THANK YOU!!! God bless you.

Blessings to you Karen. God is a prayer answer.
