Don’t worry about anything, instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT)
Who among us hasn’t fretted? Family, work, health, societal decline are all matters of concern and it’s hard to imagine not worrying about ANY thing. But it’s the worry about things that steals our peace. Instead Philippians 4:6-7 gives us the key to obtaining peace even during unsettling times. It instructs us to take the very things that would cause us to worry and use them as fuel for our prayers. Bring that thing, those things, everything to the King. He has an open ear ready to hear our needs.
But don’t let the expression of your needs be the end of your communication with Him. Instead thank Him for what he has done. Yes, there are still some unsettled matters in your life but remind, rehearse, and recite those things He has already done.
Ever brought your worries before God but still left feeling weighted? Perhaps we stopped short before giving thanks and thus we didn’t really obtain His promise of peace.

Peace is nice, believe me. But I still have earthly needs that I require help with!
Wanda says
This peace makes no sense to the human mind because we can walk in it even when things are still in unfinished state. God promises to meet our needs although he sure doesn’t do it in the timing I would prefer.
Elizabeth West says
I hope so.
Thank you, Wanda, for your insights. They are a big help. *hug*
Wanda says
You’re welcome Elizabeth. I was praying my response didn’t come across as if I was discontinued/minimizing your current needs.
Elizabeth West says
Nope, it didn’t. 🙂
LaVonne says
Giving thanks for you, Wanda. I shall yet praise Him, in the middle of all troubles, because of what He has done, what He is doing and what He will do. With every breath, I give thanks. May everthing that is needful and necessary for you and your household be provided in abundance and with overflow. Peace like a river.
Wanda says
Thank you LaVonne, wishing you the same my friend.

The more I spend time with God, the more I trust Him. And the more I trust Him, the more I give all my worries to Him. It is so nice to be freed from worry! Thank you for reminding me of my need to give everything to God.

When we operate in it fully we can be fully present in our current moment. Oh how my heart needs reminding often to cast all of my concerns upon on Him.
