Scrolling through the pages of my old journal I came across an entry dated for 5-13-09. Although the words were scribbled three years ago, they still ring true. “DON’T INSIST ON BEING RIGHT”, the whisperer said. The words He shared with me that day I choose to share with you in hopes they may be a source of strength and encouragement today as I remind myself of them as well.
Don’t insist on fighting your own cause or case! But get down. Get selfishness down. Get your pride down. If there has been injustice God has seen it and will take care of it. Let it go. Walk in love. For when you get down it’s like kneeling down in front of the person and that allows God to see their face. If I’m up He sees me-not them. Be a living demonstration of God’s love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness.
Dare to wipe the slate clean! Dare to start new. Hold no grudges. Hold no offences. You apologize if necessary and keep no record of the wrong.
The enemy of your soul does not want you to be able to love freely. He wants you to close yourself off but just bow down. For I (God) am able to heal any wound or any scrape. Just bow down as they meet with me. I love you and I will not let you fall. He knows that it seems like some people got away scot free but God sees. It’s not necessary for you to try to chastise them. When they show up, welcome them. Your capacity to love has not been depleted. Your capacity to trust and hope has not been depleted.
As I sit on this side of those pages, I don’t even recall what was going on in my life at the time but it’s evident that pain was present. In those words I see a God who loved me enough to remind me that my today wouldn’t always be marred by what happened yesterday. I see Him reminding me that I still had more to give. At times life circumstances can make us feel used up but can I just remind you that you still have MORE to give. Perhaps not more money or trinkets and certainly we don’t need to extend more time mulling over our hurts or pains but the source of love is still available for us to draw.
Wishing you joy & peace until next time…

Dear Wanda,
This is powerful and a very timely reminder that I need to apply to my life today. Thank you for letting the Lord use your hurt to share His wise and perfect counsel to others today.
Praying that you walk closely with the Lord this week and always let His light shine through you.

Good words Wanda! I can think of times when I didn’t act with humility (regardless if I was right or wrong!) because during the situation I wanted to do it my way. Self righteous is one of the most difficult sins to recognize since it is a matter of attitude rather than action. I am still a work in progress…hahaha! So thankful that God is patient with me. 🙂
Blessings friend,
Denise

Great point Denise we can be right but doing it all wrong. Which still leaves us in the wrong. God goes beyond just our actions and examines our heart in the action. Oh my yes, I thank Him for grace and mercy.

Wanda, this is so timely for me, and I’ll tell you why. There are times when I read a Scripture and sit there thinking that there must be an “out” somewhere because NOT STANDING MY GROUND seems so wrong. I had to acknowledge that most prayers go unanswered because we go before God with an “I’M RIGHT” attitude. Well, I had to lose all my “I”M RIGHT” attitude and bow down to the following this weekend:
My conscience is clear, but that doesn’t prove I’m right. It is the Lord himself who will examine me and decide. – 1 Corinthians 4:4
Yeshua answered and he said to them, “May the faith of God be in you. For, amen, I say to you, whoever shall say to this mountain: ‘Be lifted up and fall into the sea’, and will not doubt in his heart but shall believe that thing which he says, anything that he says shall be done for him. Therefore I say to you, that everything that you pray and ask, believe that you are receiving it and you shall have it. And whenever you stand to pray, forgive whatever you have against anyone, so that your Father who is in Heaven may also forgive you your faults. But if you are not forgiving, neither will your Father in Heaven forgive you your faults. – Mark 11:22-26
By the way, Wanda. I’m also having trouble commenting on my own page! lol!
Wanda says
Well LaVonne I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one encountering problems with the comments perhaps it’s a blogger issue. Certain situations do require us to stand our ground but in others God ask us to walk away. It’s in hearing and heeding his voice that we know the right course.
JBR says
Oh wow, I suffer from desiring to be right because of my past. I do not want to be hurt, so I try all ways to be right. Thank you for the reminder Wanda. Blessings.
Wanda says
You’re most welcome JBR.

Amen!! yes God can heal and He will do it little at a time…believe me I know. He does see all things and hear all things. So if we think we will get by with how we hurt people, we wont. We must ask for forgiveness for ourselves so that we can move forward with all that He has for us to do in His name. Thank you for sharing this message Wanda. I too has looked back at some of my old journals as well and have seen how far I have come with the Healing of God step by step, day by day, months, by months, year by year. Agape! 🙂
Wanda says
Although I don’t journal as much as I once need it is very enlightening to go back and see how some things that I thought were big matters at the time really weren’t so huge after all.

Blessings….
Being right isn’t all that its cracked up to be, its a fallacy because no one person knows all there is to know, nor are we perfect in every thought, word and deed hence there are times when we will be wrong, it is designed to be so, so that we may grow, learn and hopefully pass along the messages in the lessons acquired through experience.
stay blessed, as always, enlightening.
Wanda says
Very wise words Rhapsody. Getting hung up on the the our rightness can cause us to miss the lesson that present themselves to us.
