The Power in a Name

By Wanda

Lord, there is no one like you! For you are great, and your name is full of power. Jeremiah 10:6 NLT

In our natural world, certain names carry great weight or power. The using of their names or being acquainted with them makes things happen or gets things done that were otherwise impossible on your own accord.  Just think about all of the celebrity endorsed products. Being attached to the right name can move products, increase revenue, overturn circumstances, expand one’s circle of influence,  and provide resources. The right name gives you great access.

But how much more powerful and great is the name of our Lord and Savior – Jesus? Yet how often do we forget or fail to call upon that name? How often are we seeking out other names of power or authority to resolve situations rather than going to him first?

That is the greatest name of all. No other name can beat back the demons.

I know that there is much power in that name Pam yet all too often I’m looking around for assistance from others. May all remember to call upon his great name. Blessings to you.

We might call on many names but none other can do that! Hope 2016 finds you doing well Alex.

How very true, Wanda! I think, we, as Christians, live way beneath our spiritual means, because we fail to call upon the name of Jesus, as we should. There is so much power in that name! I remember when I was little, and Mom, Dad, and I would visit the elderly in nursing homes. Mom would talk about how faces would light up when she and Dad mentioned the name of Jesus! So thankful to be His child and to have Him to turn to in the troubled scenes of life! Thank you for this wonderful post. 🙂

I have to agree Cheryl I think we do live below what God intends for his children. We have access to so much but forget to use our greatest tools because they seem so insignificant to our human wisdom.

Hi Rhapsody, appreciate you circling back. My hosting company has been having some issues so my blog has been down intermittently. Ha….your words are spoken like a parent. Although I’m not one but there are definitely moments I wish the lil ones would forget my name for a few moments. 🙂
