He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters. Psalms 23:2
There is a restfulness or peace that comes as a result of trusting and following the shepherd. It relieves the sheep from the pressure to perform or figure out His life. The Shepherd himself knows when the sheep has need of rest and makes them lie down.
Are there times that we ignore the shepherd’s call to lie down and rest? Are we heeding him has He attempts to draw us out of the choppy waters of life to a more serene place?

Beautiful picture and post Wanda. Psalm 23 is one of my favorite psalms.
Wanda says
Thanks Bernadine. Psalm 23 just might be one of the most well known Psalms.

My dear Wanda, before I read this I had my list (lol) of stuff I needed to do before I got home, but guess what? That’s right; I’m not even cooking tonight. I’m gonna sit. I’m gonna rest. I’m gonna be still. I might even actually read one of the many “leisure” magazines that I somehow pay for but only glance at in passing.
Wanda says
LaVonne, hooray for you for answering the call to rest. To everything there is a time and season and rest is just as necessary as activity.
