Broken toys, dishes, phones, pictures all find there way into the discarded pile. If we are honest much of what gets cast away does not even have to be broken but rather just considered old. But the very thing the world wants to avoid is what God desires most-brokenness.
The sacrifice you want is a broken spirit. A broken and repentant heart, O God, you will not despise. Psalms 51:17 (NLT)
In brokenness, I no longer see the need to portray that I have every thing right.
In brokenness, I acknowledge that I am not really the one in control.
I learned God-worship when my pride was shattered. Heart-shattered lives ready for love don’t for a moment escape God’s notice. Psalms 51:17 (The Message)

So very true indeed. This post fits perfectly with my post of today and tomorrow, where I’m offering up a contest about being broken.
Enjoyed the interview over at your blog Sheri.
Profound thoughts on the idea of brokenness. Very thoughtful B post!
Welcome to the Challenge!

Blessing to have you stop by Karen. Best of the luck in the challenge.
A great B post, a broken spirit or heart is not the most pleasant of things but if we learn from the situation that makes a person a stronger one in the future,
Hope this reaches you have had trouble getting through in the past week.
Yvonne.
Hi Yvonne, sorry to hear that you have encountered trouble leaving comments recently.
We are all broken. But God will heal us if we let him.
Yes, if we allow Him is the key.
Thank you for the words of encouragement, Wanda!
Hi Brianna, thanks for stopping by. Good luck in the challenge
I’m so grateful that when I was broken I wasn’t discarded! But I was made into something completely new! Praise God!
Me too Brenda! God is in the restoration business.
One of the things I deal with most with clients is to change their view about being shattered. Pride really is deceitful. People will do all types of wrong and “enjoy” it, but then comes they fall. They will sit in my office and talk about ending it all because their pride is broken, but, as you pointed out, it is when pride falls and shatters that we can really see God working and cling to Him. The brokeness is often the openess that God needs to work in our lives. May God help us to see that He beautifies and blesses us in our brokeness.
Love your way with words LaVonne..”the brokenness is often the openness that God needs to work in our lives”.
Brokenness is a hard place to be – but it’s also a place where God comes near. Brokenness is when I find myself tucked under His mighty wings – sheltered from the storm of things I cannot control.
It might be broken, but I still give Him my heart.
GOD BLESS!
Oh yes, we maybe broken but He doesn’t leave us uncovered.
This is a concept so many find hard to accept–that God would love them despite their brokenness. Thanks for the reminder, Wanda.
Broken is never more than God can handle. He likes broken. He fixes broken. I like “I acknowledge that I am not really the one in control.” We forget that so easily.
Wanda–like your B post. God is so amazing! He meets us where we are.
Hi Lindi. Our God is indeed amazing.
No truer words were ever spoken sweetie and what is broken and shattered God will make whole once again. Isn’t he awesome???
God bless ya my friend and have yourself an excellent kinda week!!! :o)
I am so grateful that God doesn’t leave me in my brokkeness. That’s He’s right there, in the middle of my mess, ready to put me back together. Sometimes it’s instantly, other times I must wait. And I love that even though I am broken, He still uses me for His glory!
And broken, God can fix us!
Wanda,
We are broken. Only God is in control.
Can I ask you to pray for Shelby? I have it up on my blog. She is still in a coma.
Hi Dawn, I will be agreeing in prayer for Shelby.
I now know that in my brokenness God changes my mess into message. Amen
That God can take our messes and turn them into messages still amazes me.
