Welcome to another edition of The Friday Five where I share 5 interesting reads I have discovered during my blog hopping during the week.
This weeks Friday Five picks are:
Why a Clear Personal Vision is Important by Bernard at Lead to Impact. The quote below really spoke to me as I read his post.
Unfortunately, many people don’t live from vision. They live life like a builder who tries to construct a building without the proper blueprints. Because he does not have a clear vision for the building, he works from assumptions and guess work. – Bernard
Seeking Peace Not the Absence of Conflict by Shelia at To Love, Honor, and Vacuum. Although Shelia’s post is specifically geared toward marriages, I think anyone in relationship can glean from it. I naturally tend to avoid conflict but she helped me see this isn’t always the best solution.
3 Ways to Define Success as a Christian Writer by Alicia over at Godly Writers reminds us that numbers alone don’t spell success.
My Struggles Are a Gift by Jim Woods at Jesse Hoover. We don’t often see the gift of struggles when we are in the midst of them but Jim reminds us they do have value.
Mentions, retweets, and links, Oh my! (when social media leaves you lonely)…… by Rachel at A Steady Rain. A wonderful posts for anyone who has felt alone in the sea of social media. Rachel points us back to the One that truly matters.
All the retweets in the world will never truly satisfy my heart’s desire for acceptance. I already have it through Christ!
…to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved…. Rachel

Alex J. Cavanaugh says
Numbers don’t define success. Unless it’s the amount of people whose lives are more blessed because of us.
Wanda says
Now those are numbers worth counting for sure. Hope you have a great weekend Alex!

Thanks for sharing your Friday Five, Wanda! The last one resonated particularly with me. It’s so easy to get caught up in the social media frenzy and to forget that ours is the God of “Be Still and Know.” This was a good reminder.
Have a great weekend, Wanda!
Wanda says
To be still and know…ah yes. In all of our connecting there is One connection that far exceeds them all. Hope you enjoy a great weekend Alison
