Obediently Keeping to Task & Waking Up Our Hearts

By Wanda

Can it really be Friday already? How the individual days can drag but the week speed along amazes me. Unless you are new around these parts, you know Friday is home to The Friday Five at The Watered Soul. Each week I like to share five inspiring posts I have come across during my week that really encouraged, educated, or inspired me. It’s just a snippet of a few of the blogs I read. Although, my nose has been glued to the Kindle App on my Samsung Tab reading Packing Light in my free time this week.

5 Inspiring Quotes

I learned that sometimes obedience isn’t pretty.  It isn’t natural. Sometimes it doesn’t feel good.
I learned that sometimes obedience is a war zone, a battleground, a contentious battle between our feelings and our faith. – Sharon @ Sharon Sharon God – I Almost Missed Church on Purpose

When did I allow my dreamer heart to die? Do I believe that God is fully capable of not just resurrecting lost dreams, but bringing back to life the dreamer in me, the one who reaches for the possibility despite the challenges? – Barbie @ My Freshly Brewed Life – Uncovering My Heart’s Desires: Becoming Living Art

Let not my heart be carried away or be consumed by the chaos and confusions the news channels bring to us. Let my heart learn to behold the beauty of God’s love around me.  – Ruth @ Hand Maiden’s Muse – A Ray of Hope-It’s Spring

How do you begin to understand at the tender age of 8, why the eyes that look like yours and the fair skin like yours and the wide nose like yours, is touching you in places Mom told you should never be touched; by a man you call Daddy?  –Stacy Earl from Women Walking With Jesus – Overcomer

It takes faith to put yourself out there. It takes faith to put words on the paper (or in this case the computer screen) and hit publish. It takes faith that what you are doing for God will ultimately bear fruit for God, not for you (or me) but for God! – Tami @ Blogs by Christian Women – It’s a Tough Job

It often seems like Barbie has way of writing what’s in my heart but I could never really articulate quite as eloquently as she does.

The first quote and the second… yes and yes.

Obedience is a daily war for victory on God’s terms, not ours. It’s a daily decision to submit to Him and His ways, all the while our flesh screams “Gimme gimme gimme” to us. Ah, what a struggle to embrace.

I, too, have questioned where the dreamer in me went. God’s been resurrecting her slowly. I’m grateful for His patience with me, Wanda, so grateful!

    Have a good week, Wanda.

So I have Alison. It’s kind of sad how our dreams can become covered up but I’m grateful for a good who will reawaken those dreams.

Wanda, the quotes were all poignant to read. Sharon’s and Barbie’s probably touched me the most. I like having the quotes from the articles you feature. It gives me a good idea of what would appeal to me most.
