You ever find yourself going through life with mental check offs? Subconsciously believing the more things you check off the more loved your are by God. When we manage to check off daily devotions, scripture readings, church attendance etc., we feel more deserving of God’s love. Yet it’s not the checks that have any real value. Of course not many would admit to thinking such irrational thoughts but as I walked this morning, I was reminded God’s love for me has never been on the basis of my ability to mark off all the daily checks. Before we ever knew to compose those lists, God was busy putting into action a plan, which demonstrates just how valuable we are to Him.

this is such gentle, profound wisdom.
we are so much more
than the checks on a page.
I suppose He is our one check…our one mark to hit.
If love can ever be a mark.
Thanks for this….it was like a massage for my spirit:)

Love the way you put that Jennifer. There really is just one mark that matters. Hope you & your family have a Happy Thanksgiving.
Yes, we can get caught up in thinking it is acts that will make God love us more. He wants us to reflect our love for Him in our actions, but we can get caught up in the ‘doing.’
yes, that doing rather than being can get us trapped up. Hope you & your family enjoy a Happy Thanksgiving Alex.
Oooolala I am learning and beliving more each day just how valuable I am. Thank you Wanda for this great reminder. Blessings.
It’s wonderful to get a better grasp of just how much God thinks of us.
Love this Wanda; we heard a similar message at church this last Sunday. Our true faith and love is what our salvation is all about; It’s not about checking off our accomplishments! 🙂 I will admit though, I am a “check-off list” kind of gal! hahaha!
Blessings and joy for a thankful holiday!
Denise
Hope you enjoy a Happy Thanksgiving as well Denise. I don’t do to well with written check-list 🙂
So glad His love isn’t dependent on my checks. But I know that He loves it when I seek after Him 🙂
Yes, seeking Him is pleasing to Him.
This is a good point, I do seem to have a list to always check off but I do not need to do that
Amen!! Wanda so true…I am very much valuable to Him… Agape! 🙂
