To See is My Desire

By Wanda

Psalm119_edited-1

You ever notice how you can drive to work and yet not recall much about the actual route you took?
Do you ever find yourself reading the Bible and find  it so familiar that you know what it means?

There are moments that I’m too self-absorbed to see the  beauty of creation all around me and moments were I’m speed reading and run right pass delightful goodness that can nourish my soul. These eyes of mine with their little helpers work quite fine yet I fail to truly see.

There is value in  moving beyond looking into seeing.

As we see and meditate upon His truth there is revival for discouragement, comfort for grief, understanding, reassurance of his promises, and reminders of his unfailing love.

May our eyes be ever open to see the wonderful truths of in your law Lord God.

    Blessings…..
Much can pass our eyes as we live unconsciously and take things around us for granted. I have been and can still be if i don’t hold myself accountable guilty of taking things around me for granted.

I have thought myself to stop and take note, to say thank you for what many deem mundane, like the sunrise, the sun’s rays, the sunset, the trees and the flowers even the disgusting little bugs because we all make up the eco system and we all have a purpose.

Often i hear people complain incessantly on cloudy, rainy or cold days how the day is gloomy, bad, horrible etc, and how they wish the sun would shine. I would answer, (much to their irritation at times) “the sun is shinning, that is what is day light, the rain comes to replenish and renew-imagine if it never rains? Check the weather before leaving your house and dress appropriately, Your day is your responsibility, the weather is doing its part you do yours and find a reason to smile no matter what outside looks or feel like.”

Sometimes it does not go over well but I don’t care because I cannot and will not allow their verbal vomit to contaminate my mind and affect my spirit and I go along in my day.

That’s so true Rhapsody. We do take so much for granted. If we look even through the most dismal circumstances we can find something in which we can be thankful. I like your proactive stance on protecting your positive domain. I’m sure others find that quite jarring because that’s not what is expected.

Yes! I like to read Scripture in a different translation or paraphrase sometimes to help me see those truths.

I do as well Constance. It often brings to light something I hadn’t seen before.

Hi Wanda! Your post reminded me of the sermon I heard this week. It was a commentary on the bible passage about the Nazarene’s not believing Jesus was the Messiah. “Isn’t He the carpenter?”

The presider said “Envy is a tough thing, isn’t it?” Wow. That really woke me up. I’ve heard this passage a ga-zillion times, but never was I so hit by the thought that envy is so destructive. It’s made me very reflective. And I hope I’ll be more open to the message of other bible stories too.
    Blessings,

Ceil, isn’t it amazing how something can suddenly strike a chord with us when we’ve been cruising past it for some time? Some how your comment ended up in comment spam lake and had to fish you out. Hope you have a wonderful week.

I love the thought of moving beyond looking to…seeing. I also love the thought of God bringing revival in our discouragement. This makes my heart rejoice to think of both. God bless you Wanda…may He do this for you…for all of us.

I think I miss so much in my day to day life Amy. My sister always tease me because she’s naturally more observant than I am. We can look at the same thing and she’s able to give a much more detailed description. I can’t help but wonder how much of this correlates with my spiritual walk. My your week be filled with love and joy.

It’s good to visit with you again, Wanda….so much muchness happening over here!
I love this gentle nudge to see. To really see. Like the Lord is saying “look again, dearheart”
His way is spacious and expansive. His perspective is life. I want to see from His perch:)
Thanks for always pointing, saying “look and see”
Peace and grace and a very large joy to you,
    Jennifer
