The Lord will work out his plans
for my life–
for your faithful love, O Lord endures forever
Don’t abandon me for you made me.
Psalms 138:8 (NLT)
As I came across this verse last night, I found great comfort in God’s word. How many times have you fallen into the trap of attempting to work out the details of your life? Even though I know I’m not in control, there are times I find myself frantically working to pull things together. Yet this verse reminds there is indeed a plan for my life and I’m not the one to get it working. Of course that doesn’t negate my responsibilities but ultimate control belongs in God’s capable hands.
Thank you, Wanda, for those timely words of comfort. I had to stop myself from going “frantic” over an issue this week and remember the God of ALL comfort. No, we should not be lazy or complacent, but we must always keep in our foremost thoughts that God has it all worked out.
There’s nothing like a word in season. I found such comfort in those passages of scriptures. I pray that we each will keep the fact that he has indeed work it out in the forefront our hearts & minds.
Amen! When we place our lives upon His altar, we begin to walk, talk and think in His likeness. Our problems are worked-out. Then, it’s time for a small breather and recognition of growth. Next, it’s time to step up to the plate, again, wearing our new and improved faith, to tackle the next obstacle. And, it gets easier and easier to deal with the detours and obstacles—they may look like Pike’s Peak to some folks, but they are only mole hills through the eyes of faith. It’s all about “love” and “faith” in our Father. He loves us so dearly~ Cynthia
Such wise words Cynthia! Thank you for sharing.
Wanda, the ultimate wisdom…for us to find peace in worrisome situations. Thanks for the reminder. God is great!
Blessings to you Holly. Hope you a Merry Christmas
I certainly hope and pray that His plans and my desires are one and the same!
And if they are not, he has a way of conforming our desires to His own.
You sure spoke to me….why do I keep trying to figure out stuff? I know God is in control so I need to listen to this lesson
I think it’s something inherent in us that strives to be in control of things.
I certainly have a tendency to yield to my own self-will instead of surrendering to God’s will. But I know that I need to immerse myself in obedience to Him, and apply it to my everyday life choices. Because the only way to find peace and rest for my soul most of the time is to surrender and do it His way! 🙂
Blessings and hugs my friend!
Denise
Your use of immerse really jumped out to me. My blogging friend LaVonne has been doing a whole series about immersion.
His plans are WAY better!! Thank you for this great post today.
Indeed they are Karen!
Hi! Wanda is learning to allow GOD to do what He has to do in my life…It’s truly best that way. I must follow His lead, and not try to make Him follow mine. Amen!! Thank you for sharing this message! Have a bless weekend. Agape!
Yes, His ways are far better no matter how much we think we know. Hope you have a great weekend as well.
